RUSI/Intellect Conference – Cyber Security: A
Public-Private Partnership
21-22 October, RUSI, Whitehall, London
Following the publication of the UK's first ever
Cyber Security Strategy earlier this
year, and against a backdrop of increasingly common and damaging
cyber attacks, VEGA is pleased to be sponsoring the RUSI /
Intellect Cyber Security two-day conference aimed at exploring
the industry-government partnership in the cyber domain.
The forum, taking place in Whitehall on 21-22 October 2009, aims
to help senior policy makers, companies with an interest in the
sector, and other stakeholders discuss how the UK's public and
private responses to new threats and new policy can best be
enabled.
Exploring the national perspective provided by the Cyber Security Strategy, the conference will look
at its interactions with the National Security
Strategy, protection of the critical national infrastructure,
and criminal/sub-state factors.
VEGA's Head of Security Strategy, Steve Coles will be
contributing to the two-day conference programme as an
industry representative. Steve is a member of Intellect’s
Security and Resilience Group management committee, and one of the
trade association’s representatives on RISC. As a member of this council,
Steve acts as Chair of the RISC ICT IAG.
Steve will be asking the question 'Does the UK need a National
Strategy for information sharing? – Do we need to Share to
Prepare?'. An abstract of this
presentation can be found in the Information
Sharing section of this site.
Further details on this Cyber Security conference can
be found on both the RUSI and
Intellect websites.
