CLAS - CESG Listed Adviser Scheme
What is CLAS?
CLAS is the Government's
CESG Listed Adviser Scheme - a partnership between government and
industry, linking the unique Information Assurance knowledge
of CESG with the expertise and resources of the private
sector. CLAS has been establlished in response to the
increased demand for authoritative Information Assurance advice and
guidance, in light of increasing awareness regarding threats and
vulnerabilities that information systems face in the 21st
century.
Using a CLAS consultant
By using accredited VEGA CLAS consultants, you will be
guaranteed a full understanding of current Government policy
and guidance; the risk to official systems; the techniquies
available to counter them. This is particularly important for
governement departments or organisations trying to connect to secure networks such as Government
Secure Intranet (GSI) and Government Connect Secure Extranet
(GCSx), areas in which VEGA has extensive knowledge.
VEGA's CLAS capabilities
VEGA is a member of the CESG Listed Advisor Scheme, CLAS. The
Scheme aims to satisfy the increased demand for authoritative
Information Assurance advice and guidance. CLAS creates a pool of
high quality consultants approved by CESG to provide Information
Assurance advice to government departments and other organisations
who provide vital services for the United Kingdom. VEGA's CLAS
consultants are approved to provide Information Assurance advice on
systems processing which is protectively marked information up to
and including 'SECRET'. We are committed to our CLAS membership,
which is reflected in the company's extensitve investment in
accrediation across its information security team.
VEGA's CLAS experience
Over the past few years, VEGA has provided extensive CLAS
accredited penetration testing activities to a number of Government
departments and organisations ranging from client-directed security
documentation production to leading security workstreams on large
central Government programmes.
